 When fire, extreme heat, or electric arc are potential hazards choose Guardian FR for maximum protection. Material: DuPont Nomex and DuPont Kevlar. It is a tougher material than the Nomex IIIA material alone. The material manufacturer has designed this material especially for Wildland Firefighting applications. It comprises 60% Nomex and 40% Kevlar. The Kevlar gives the material it’s excellent wear qualities. Also because the fibers in this material are inherently flame resistant they can not be washed out of the material. This is a significant advantage over Proban which is a 100% cotton fabric that is only good for 25 industrial washes before the FR impregnated material no longer maintains it’s FR qualities.
