HID Lighting Systems - 12V & 24V (Also known as High Intensity Discharge Lighting, Xenon and Metal Halide Work Lamps)

The APS range of 12V and 24V Speaker HID work lamps are built to last and feature high quality Philips Xendrive and Xenstart ballast and bulb.
In August 2001 Speaker completely redesigned their original 974 and 973 HID work lamps. The new A9720 24V 35W and A9710 12V 35W series HID work lamps are built to handle the shock and high vibration that lamps experience in rugged off-road operating conditions. In January 2002 Speaker also released the Marine Version of this work lamp. Both the A9720 & A9710 Industrial and Marine work lamps are sealed against dust and water and meet IP68 standards. They feature all stainless steel hardware and are used extensively in the Major Mining Regions of the world.
In addition to HID work lamps APS stocks and offers a complete range of high performance 12V and 24V halogen oval work lamps, LED lighting and standard lighting products for Utility, Construction, Tractor, Truck and Fork Lift applications.
WHY CHOOSE HID LIGHTING SYSTEMS OVER HALOGEN AND QUARTZ HALOGEN?
- HID Lighting Systems offer Improved Light Output Efficiency
HID’s offer existing users of halogen light systems a 60% reduction in steady state power consumption, a 40% increase in light output and 8-10 times the life. This means much more powerful lights can be fitted on the same machine without having to upgrade alternators, switching gear, cables etc.
- HID Lighting Systems offer Improved Power Use Efficiency
A 24VDC 100W halogen lamp draws a constant 4.2 amps, outputting 2,500 lumens, while Speakers 24VDC 35W HID lamp in steady state draws 1.6 amps and outputs 3,500 lumens.
- HID Lighting Systems offer Increased light output per Watt
HID D1S 35W lamps output approx 91 lumens per watt. Nearly 4X the number of lumens per watt of conventional halogen lamps. Near daylight light color also means improved visibility, safer operating conditions, increased production and a reduced need for expensive on-site lighting plant and towers.
- HID D1S and D2S bulbs do not contain filaments
The absence of filaments in the D1S and D2S configuration lamps offers drastically improved shock and vibration resistance. HID bulbs provide 8-10 times the life of today’s conventional halogen lamps. Speaker built in shock mount has been tested in excess of 30G and more importantly has been used successfully in the field now for over 12 months on all types of heavy equipment, including: dozers, shovels, excavators, haul trucks and mine support vehicles. It is used in the extreme temperatures of Alaska on both mining equipment and fishing vessels and at extreme altitudes on the mine sites in Peru and Chile. We are confident that we have the best all round HID work lamp available in the market today.
- The Speaker A9700 series lamps incorporate Excellent Optics & Light Design
This ensures that the maximum amount of light is put where it is needed, in the work zone.
- HID lighting provides even consistent lighting
Halogen lamps by comparison dim and brighten as machine power fluctuates a key factor in operator fatigue and a shortened lamp life.
- Speaker’s A9700 HID’s feature
All glass lenses, stainless steel hardware, a built-in shock mount, completely sealed from water, dust and corrosion.
