Sometimes a graph or a statistic just doesn’t really express what really occurs in the blind spot. Preco Electronics, manufacturer of the PreView Radar blind spot warning system, decided to do something about that and have begun development of a host of blind spot safety videos to show drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and anyone else who interact with large equipment and commercial vehicles what those graphs and blind spot statistics really mean.
A professional driver was used to set up his mirrors to cover his blind spot. We brought in the things that are common around his vehicle, and had him tell us when he could and couldn’t see them using his mirrors. The video shows the results.
